INSTRUCTOR BIO
Nikos Spiridakis is an accomplished editor, sound designer, and director whose passion for filmmaking started at an early age. Growing up on film and television sets, he began directing at age 10. His early hands-on experience laid the foundation for a deep understanding of visual storytelling. During his formative years, Nikos honed his craft at Camp Red (Red Studios in Hollywood) and Manhattan Film Institute (MFI), where he directed and edited numerous short films while also contributing to many others' projects, ultimately stepping into a teaching role at MFI. He further specialized in editing and sound design at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, graduating with a BFA in Filmmaking. His professional experience includes work with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Screen Gems, bringing current industry expertise to his teaching approach.

Nikos combines his technical proficiency in editing and sound design with a natural ability to break down complex filmmaking concepts for beginners, making him an ideal instructor for this hands-on workshop.

This program is partially funded by Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning and Legislator Stark.
