Our Fabulous Variety Show Page to Stage Camp (Each Session: 5-Day Workshop)


A Musical Theater Camp with Anita Boyer & Kasia Klimiuk for students ages 7-12.
$375 per 5-day session, per student

WHEN
SESSION ONE: Monday August 4th - Friday August 8th (10:00am - 1:00pm)

SESSION TWO: Monday August 25th - Friday August 29th (10:00am - 1:00pm)

WHAT
Students will have the opportunity to use their voices, bodies and imaginations to learn how to storytell and create original theatre. Through acting activities and improvisation techniques, they will learn how to create a script, improve their literacy through writing, explore world building, and develop dynamic characters. There will be vocal and dance instruction as well to give them a “Broadway Bound” experience honing their skills in singing, acting and dance! This program will also improve their socio-emotional skills and foster their communication, collaboration and decision-making skills. For the culminating presentation, students will create a short musical to present to their friends and family!

This class is limited to 14 students and students should bring their own snacks & drinks.

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Anita Boyer has been studying dance since the age of 5, with her main focus in tap. She studied dance and was trained in classical ballet at Opus Dance Studio in Ohio where she grew up. She is a professional dance teacher bringing her joy of dance to humans of all ages from Montauk to Westhampton! She is a performer with over 15 years of experience in producing theatre and original work, performing, writing and choreographing shows. As the Artistic Director for Our Fabulous Variety Show she oversees the creative side of studio programming, show promotion and creation, programming with other organizations, and the OFVS Competition Dance Team.

Kasia Klimiuk is an arts educator and theatre artist. She has been performing in various mediums for over 30 years and at the helm of non-profit theatre company, Our Fabulous Variety Show (OFVS), with Anita Boyer since 2010 as a co-founder and co-director of their creative youth development and performing arts programs. Kasia received her MA in Applied Theatre from the CUNY School of Professional Studies as well as her NY State Certification in Theatre K-12 at the City College of New York. She is the Teeny Awards Coordinator for East End Arts, which is known as the Tony Awards for eastern Long Island high school theatre. She has a great deal of experience devising original work, teaching basic acting skills, and facilitating theatre programs for young people from ages 4 to 18 as well as with adults. She believes theatre has the power to transform and transcend into all aspects of our lives and loves using it as a tool to express, enlighten and activate.
