WHAT
Scene Study Class taught by NFAC Founder and Executive Director, screenwriter, director, producer and actor Tony Spiridakis, and NFAC Advisory Board Member, actor and director Georgia Ciaputa.
Learn how to bring authenticity to your portrayals through an in-depth exploration and analysis of a scene. This 5-week class is limited to 14 actors, and meets Saturday mornings, 10am to 12:30pm, March 8 - April 5, at the North Fork Arts Center. Applications will include a link to recent work - OR - a monologue no longer than one minute.
INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Tony Spiridakis is an award-winning filmmaker with nearly four decades in the industry. His latest film "Ezra," starring Bobby Cannavale and Robert De Niro, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and releases nationwide in May 2024. He currently serves as consulting producer on MGM+'s "Earth Abides" and is adapting the memoir "Hello Darkness, My Old Friend" for Wayfarer Studios. His notable works include "Queens Logic" with Kevin Bacon and "Ash Tuesday" with Giancarlo Esposito. He co-created several TV series including Fox's "The Heights" with Eric Roth and has collaborated with acclaimed directors like Stanley Kubrick. A passionate educator, Spiridakis founded the North Fork Arts Center and co-founded the Manhattan Film Institute, which has produced hundreds of short films and mentored emerging filmmakers.
Georgia Ciaputa serves on the Advisory Board of the North Fork Arts Center, and is a resident artist and Board Member of Corchaug Repertory Theatre, where she recently directed “The Dispatchment Society”. She studied Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, acted with The Williamson Theatre Company and the Provincetown Playhouse, and is a student of the Meisner Technique, soap opera, commercial and scene study techniques. Recent performances have been at the North Fork Community Theatre and Northeast Stage.
