WHAT
This four-session acting class is designed to help young actors (ages 16-22) build confidence and develop essential audition skills for both the academic and professional worlds. The focus will be on both in-person and self-tape auditions, allowing students to gain practical experience and receive personalized feedback.
In this comprehensive workshop, you'll develop a strong and adaptable technique while working on monologues for school and professional opportunities, practice self-tape auditions including technical setup, learn strategies to stay relaxed and confident while making strong choices, and receive personalized feedback to refine your performances.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Diogo C. Martins is an actor, writer, and producer originally from Lisbon, Portugal, now based in New York. He works internationally across theater, film, and VoiceOver, splitting his professional credits between the US and Portugal. He holds an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School and is Co-Artistic Director of Saudade Theatre, the first U.S. company dedicated to Portuguese-American stories. His work spans stage and screen, including roles in FBI (CBS) and The Pianist (NOS), as well as theatre performances in Gruesome Playground Injuries (Gibney Theater) and The Accident (Kraine Theater—Best Drama, Frigid Festival 2015). He has also lent his voice to projects like Nobel laureate José Saramago’s Skylight audiobook.
